If you are looking for replacing your your trusted South Indian coffee filter with this electric coffee maker, you’ll be disappointed. First thing, its too big with a minimum quantity of 4 cups. Literally, its 4 cups of decoction, albeit watery like black coffee. You can make it thick by adding less water, but yet the flavor cannot be guaranteed as the brewing process is too fast. Previously my Philips coffee maker used to spray steam and brew it a bit slowly with the steam percolating through coffee powder taking some initial time. However this one starts pouring (mind it, not dripping) as soon as it starts. For small families looking for coffee decoction, this is a strict “No”. For black coffee lovers, with large families (more than 6), this would be ideal.

I used to have black and decker coffee makers but their after sales service was not that good. The last one i had the spares were not available and i opted to go in for a philips and it was the worst decision. The coffees did not brew that great neither did the water get hot enough couple with their lazy service center that took ages to source a carafe and a filter basket and finally no spares available.
I decided to go ahead with black and decker again since this was a newer model. The order reached me 4 days late due to some delays but the product was packaged well.
First impressions were the product felt plasticy but still felt of better quality than phillips even the carafe was thicker than phillips. On browsing through the information on the box and warranty card i was happy to know the after sales is not handled by the same folks that used to handle it. And they do home visits!
The coffee maker has a great programmable feature you can set it up before you sleep and set it to start in the morning. It also will auto shut off after two hours whether you used the programmable mode or the manual mode. The machine brews medium strength coffee, but i will need to experiement with quantity and different roasts and maybe different paper filters. Yea you do not need to use a paper filter but using one may help prolong the filters life and prevent powder from getting into the pot. So far so good it does what it needs to. Drips water slowly onto the powder and has a good spread. Just keep the hot plate clean and dry and it should be great for a long time.

It brews excellent coffee. Timer is excellent feature allowing you to wake up to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee . It also has a strong keep warm plate that maintains coffee temperature without burning it. I wish it has a strength control feature. Overall it’s a solid choice.

Can’t go wrong with this machine which does its job well for just ~2300 If you like your coffee without milk, this should be a perfect machine for you. Wish it could keep coffee warmer than it does for a couple of hours but it is what it is. Plus the taste also changes if you let the coffee sit for a while.

I use this coffee maker every day. It works very well and brews quickly. The post-brewing warmer time stated on the manual is 40 minutes. I did not notice this; previous coffee makers I have purchased have a two-hour warming period. I have not timed the warmer to see if it gives me the whole 40 minutes, but it seems to turn off fairly quickly. My work-around is to switch the switch off then back on each time I get a cup. A minor annoyance, and one I would have been aware of if I had checked this. Still, I am only 4-stars happy with this and will check this time in future buys.

I don’t know why people here are complaining about warm plates and bad coffee. I haven’t had any such problems ever since I bought this machine! I grind the coffee beans, pour water using the carafe by measuring how many cups I want to make and Voila! Coffee is ready within a few minutes. If the coffee gets cold, you just turn on the machine and choose “brew” option. This heats the plate below and your coffee is warm again. What’s so hard to understand?
Coming to the quality of the materials used to make this product: nah, it isn’t great. But it isn’t bad either. I just paid 2400 bucks for this. What do I expect? A magnificent coffee maker with 55″ OLED screen with Google Home and Chromecast built-in that has Morgan Freeman reading out my morning news? Nope. If you want better quality, pay more. I’m pretty happy with what I’ve received at this price. Cheerio!!
