So I had been using a moka pot for more than 5+ years. And while only it’s handle broke, I felt the need to perhaps try a different brew of coffee this time around. I had been eyeing many a French press but this one by Insta Cuppa really got my attention with the price & customer service, and of course the product itself. I originally wanted to purchase the copper one but read of few reviews of the colour chipping so instead opted for the steel one, which is also quite stylish, albiet a little generic looking. Now, as for the product, it’s been working marvellous for me. The glass is borosilicate and has stood the hot water each time. Of course it’s still glass & needs to be handled with care than you would with, say an entirely stainless steel body. I have no issues with that whatsoever since the glass body is the whole product’s point of attraction for me. The handle is sturdy, everything is well built. The extra mesh filters & cleaning sponge are added benefits which I’m thankful for. The lid however could have been built to close. It just sits on top which makes me feel it might slip off easily, it doesn’t shut or seal off completely. I’m not sure why it’s been made that way, is it a fault or part of the process, I’ll never know. The spout is perfect, pours the liquid easily and precisely. Overall the looks cute. Coming to the most important and obvious part of this French press, the quality of the coffee brewed. For me, the coffee turned out very nice, better than I had imagined. With a moka pot the brew is more robust and strong with a punch. Don’t get me wrong, with the French press, it’s strong too but with a more smoother taste profile. The notes are more nuanced and layered. Wow apparently after using the French press for 2+ months I’m a coffee expert, judging from my choice of words! Jokes apart, the resulting brew is more flavourful, smooth and layered in taste which I found quite lovely. Even when I tried the same coffee grinds for the moka pot and French press, the end results tasted different. And of course, it’s much quicker than a moka pot. As mentioned in other reviews, I contacted the Insta Cuppa team using the coupon inside and they shipped me a sleeve free of any cost. So that’s the added bonus. I brewed green tea in this as well as frothed milk (plant based), both worked perfectly. The tea particles(and coffee too) get stuck in the mesh at times so that’s a little annoying but a good thorough rinse cleanes them out well. All in all, I’ll rate this product 10/10. With good care and handling, this should last for quite sometime. I’m very happy with my purchase.

So I was looking for a French Press for a long time now as I wanted to have some quality ground coffee. Obviously didn’t want to spend a ton on coffee machine or a french press. It was then that this baby caught my eyes. I was impressed by the quality review it received. So, decided to buy this considering the fact that its not that expensive and I won’t be losing much if it turned out to be crap. Boy was I surprised.. If you don’t want to read further, I can guarantee you that its worth your money and more. You may order it if you are in search for a quality french press. You’ll thank me later.

So coming to the product. The body is made of glass (boro silicate) and WOULD BREAK if handled roughly. Its what glasses do if you mistreat them. On the other hand, since its borosilicate glass, the same used to make beakers and testubes, it is highly resistant to temperature changes. Which would mean one need not worry about cracking this thing up due to hot water. Though I would advice you to wait till you finish your coffee before rinsing it with cold water, it would greatly extend its life. Cleaning this thing is a breeze, just rinse in running water and you’re done. The filters are also cleaned the same way. They’ve also included extra pair of filters and cleaning brush to be used when deep clean is required. The extra pair od filter would come into use onxe you decide to get rhe old one replaced. That being said, the damn thing is built to last and would service you for atleast an year (conservatively speaking) before you’d feel the need to replace them. The support is awesome, you need to get the product registered to claim warranty and one you do that you’re in for a pleasant surprise. I never knew this thing could be used for anything else than to make a cup of coffee. Highly recommended that you read the follow up mails, they are good and informative. You can make 2 cups at a time, if you’re pressed for time (see what I did there 😉) you can make a concentrated dose and dilute it later. For me, a little less than a scoopful does the trick, your mileage may vary. To be really honest, I couldn’t find any flaw in thia thing. The guys are doing a great job here.
