My wife is an avid gardener and spends a lot of time in the garden. She just loves the floral designs that are intricate and delicate. The floral design at the base is just gorgeous. I didn’t see any information on the information page about being microwave or dishwasher safe. Probably because of the delicate artwork, this may not be safe in the dishwasher. But there is a simple test anyone can do to check if it is microwave safe. I think it is. I put the empty cup into a microwave along with a glass having 8 ounces of water and then ran the microwave at full power for one minute. The cup remained cool to the touch even though the glass of water was hot. That test is for heat and the glass cup. I have no ideal of any long-term effects that the microwave may have on the colors and design.

– A cup of coffee is too dark to effectively show off the artwork in this cup. The coffee made the flowers look dark and wilted.
– You’ll need a light background (see photo) like our white placemat to effectively show off the delicate artwork in the cup.
– Probably not oven or dishwasher safe.
