nachdem das Vorgängermodel bei mir 9 Jahre lang seinen Dienst getan hat, habe ich mir vor 2 Monaten mit dieser Kaffeemaschine das Nachfolgeprodukt angeschafft. Das lästige Putzen des Mahlwerkes nach jedem Brühvorgang ist nun passé, das Mahlwerk ist geschützt vor Wasserdampf. Das Reinigen nach jeder Kaffeezubereitung beschränkt sich auf den Permanentfilter mit den zugehörigen Komponenten. Die Maschine macht einen robusten Eindruck, auch das Design aus schwarzem Kunststoff und Edelstahl ist ansehnlich. Die Stärke des Kaffees ist nicht nur über die Vorwahltaste einstellbar, sondern auch über die eingefüllte Wassermenge. Logischerweise wird bei dieser Maschine immer der komplette Wasservorrat im Tank verbraucht (im Gegensatz zu Tassenmaschinen). Natürlich gibt es auch einige Kritikpunkte, wie in den anderen Rezensionen beschrieben: Anleitung nur auf Englisch – trotzdem ist die Bedienung sehr einfach. Das Mahlwerk ist sehr laut, dies ist jedoch bei vielen Vollautomaten ebenso und daher prinzip-bedingt. Der Permantenfilter lässt natürlich feinen Kaffeesatz durch, der sich am Kannenboden absetzt. Damit kann ich leben. Überhaupt ist die Kanne sehr gelungen: Stilvoll, hält lange warm und einfaches Ausgießen ohne Fummelei am Deckel möglich. Wenn ich wüsste, dass diese Maschine auch wieder neun Jahre ihren Dienst tut, würde ich sogar sechs Sterne vergeben….

I have been searching for this machine as I have one and love it so much I don’t want to be without a replacement when it is worn out. I bought my last machine in the Uk but now living in Australia, when searching on Amazon or other suppliers it kept directing me to USA site which is no use as the voltage is 120 in USA and 230 in Australia and UK. Uk sites wouldn’t ship it, so I was delighted when Amazon au made it available via Amazon UK. The machine holds beans in a container, grinds enough for the amount of cups selected, all you need to do is add the required amount of water and push a button and the coffee goes into an insulated jug. It makes from 4-12 cups, I find we use the 6 cup option most as we like mugs for our breakfast coffee. It can even be programmed to make coffee at a set time but I don’t use this, it is noisy for the short time it is grinding the beans. I did once find if I was making the maximum amount of coffee it flooded a bit as the basket couldn’t cope but that might have been a bean problem. Excellent machine hope it doesn’t get discontinued!

Ive always wanted bean to cup, and now that i have this i could never go back. A few people describe how this machine works and get it wrong, but its very simple:
Fill the beans up at the top, set the number of cups, fill the water and press start. The timer is exactly the same, except you press timer instead of start.
From the moment the grinder starts you get a strong smell of coffee. The grinder works very well and never clogs. It’s easy to clean under a tap ,and then easy to set back up.
A couple of people have moaned that it’s hard to set up, but considering all you have to do is line up two arrows, i can only assume they have velcro shoes……..
The best feature for me is the fact that this doesn’t burn the coffee. As there is no hot plate the coffee stays hot in the flask, but wont continue to cook it like my last one did. This means the coffee tastes fresh even on the second or third cup. The coffee also stays hot for at least an hour after making.
When you first get it you will need to play around with the settings to get your perfect cup. For us we set the bean grinder to 4 cups, fill up the water to 6 cups and then set the strength to medium. This provides a great black medium coffee. If we are adding milk, we set it to strong. May sound complicated, but once you find what you like it’s easy to repeat.
There is just one flaw with this coffee maker…… The flask. Its easy to clean, looks great and keeps the coffee very hot. But with the lid on, the coffee pours out unbelievably slow. You also end up holding the flask almost upside down. I know others have said this and i agree its annoying, but the rest of the features are spot on so i cant even really mark it down. When we pour our coffee, we now just unscrew the lid and it works perfectly – so its a pretty easy fix if it annoys you.
I would certainly recommend this product and if if broke tomorrow, i would just buy the same one again.
