Handle gets too hot

I recently purchased a stovetop espresso maker from Cafe Jei and I must say, the product has been excellent. As an avid coffee lover, I was searching for the perfect product to make a nice espresso, but I didn’t want to spend a lot on a high-cost espresso maker. Cafe Jei’s product was affordably priced and looks quite stylish, especially with its glass top. It feels good to see the hot coffee drizzling & taste it hot. Love it !
The service has also been quite good & the customer care has been very responsive

Good product, does the job well. Wish it was made in India though.

This is a must-have device for all coffee lovers, of course, I am talking about filter coffee lovers. The design of the Coffee-Maker is just right.
Design: Very good. Sturdy. The glass top helps in seeing the brewing and the level of coffee after the concoction. The base is induction-ready, so getting things done on an induction oven is super user-friendly.
Cleaning: Easy to clean and wash – adequately large in size, so there is no issue/problem to get it cleaned using a sponge
Ease-of-use: High. There is no challenge in using it on a daily basis
Overall: Very good. a must-have device
My Point of view: Value for money for coffee lovers.

Having used the pot for the past week, the only downside is an overblown coffee budget 😀
Conclusions –
Jei pot is a clone of the Bialetti Venus and is very good looking due to the glass upper part, instead of steel.
The build is sturdy, leak free, pressure contained even with repeated, 4-5 times, daily usage.
The silicone gasket, presumably, extends the period before change vis-a-vis a rubber one.
After experimenting with many combinations & ratios, the optimum results come from-
Medium roast coffee 35 gms + 270ml water
Dark roast coffee 30gms + 240ml water
1 flat tablespoon = 5gms dark roast, 6gms medium roast.
Water is best at pre- boil temperature. Neither cold nor completely boiled.
Yield is 160-180ml. Sufficient for 3 people. Coffee is of syrupy consistency, 50/60ml /person will be satisfactory and not overwhelming tastewise or caffeine wise.
Precise technique is needed to extract the best taste without any overextraction of bitter compounds.
Low temperature, 20% on an electric plate, yields a controlled slow brewing.
Lighter roasts don’t work, unless an extremely sour taste is desired. I tried a light speciality roast borrowed from my neighbour. It had a very high rating and fruity profile. Results were overly sour as per 40+ age group drinkers. Younger age group sort of liked the fruity acidity.
Tried marvahulla dark roast from kc roasters, lavazza rossa, club and crema e gusto. All 4 produced perfect texture after the technique was perfected.
Pour boiled water into the shot cups/ glasses to heat. Once coffee is ready pour water back into the kettle and coffee in the warm glasses.
Ignore this step if living at warmer temperatures. I’m at 2300 mts elevation and 5-15 deg temp range.
Steps-
1. Heat 240 or 270ml water in a saucepan, depending on type of coffee.
2. Fill the funnel in the mean time. Fill 2 tbsp tap the stem on a flat surface to settle coffee. Add 2 tbsp more. Repeat tap step. Add the last 2/3 tbsp and tap more. Dont press from top. Finally the coffee will settle slightly lower than the top edge of the funnel.
3. Pour pre-boil temp water from saucepan into the bottom receptacle. Put funnel on top. Screw top part while holding the bottom with a cloth (it will be hot)
4. Place on hot plate. 20% heat level. Keep the top steel lid in an open position.
5. As soon as the first drops of coffee start to come out of the stem in the upper chamber, take pot off heat for precisely 30 seconds. This is a sort of faux infusion.
6. Place pot back on plate after 30 seconds, same 20% heat level.
7. Slow trickle will restart. If fast reduce heat next time.
8. Most crucial step. The coffee when turns in blond colour the end of brewing is near. Time it in such a way that the pot is taken off heat 4-5 seconds before the final gurgling sound and the bottom of the pot is run under a cold tap to stop brewing.
These last 4-5 seconds will determine if the coffee is balanced and all taste notes are there or on the flip side, bitter compounds have come from the gurgling stage to overwhelm the coffee… so master this step…
* In case the grind is too fine e.g lavazza rossa, ignore tap part of step 2. And fill the funnel very fluffily/ lightly.
Enjoy..
Hope this helps someone..

Imagine getting good quality coffee at home and Moka pot does the trick. Fill the bottom part of the moka pot (two cups of water) and fill the coffee container with two filled spoons of Slay coffee or any ground coffee and screw the glass lid pot on top of it. Now heat it in low flame and viola you get strong, expresso coffee mix. Now get a milk frother, add hot milk and sugar to taste and make frothed milk.
The coffee brew you get from moka pot uses steam pressure or atmosphere difference to brew highly good coffee. Pour in the frothed milk and you get a great cup of cappacunio or moka coffee. Highly recommend.
Amazon was offering this during the freedom sale at a mark down price and i would recommend this if you love coffee.

Everything was perfect about this until, a few days ago I started noticing rust forming in the bottom water tank. And I have searched so much and can’t find who to contact for a replacement. So disappointed
